Cookie Law
As you may be aware, from May 2011 a new privacy law came into effect across the EU which requires that websites ask visitors for consent to use most web cookies. Web cookies are commonly used to allow personalisation of content, enable things like shopping baskets or to enhance visitor analytics information in the form of Google Analytics.
The deadline for implementing a method of consent is fast approaching on 26th May 2012. Like many other people we had hoped that the decision to enforce this rule would be overturned but as that is not looking likely we have been looking into possible solutions.
Our friends at Silktide have created a plugin for this purpose which we have chosen to use. You can see this in action on our own website.
